Dear Daughter
I have many photos of our family and this one is one of my more favorites photos of you to date. It’s you just being spontaneously silly, which is what I think really makes Life Great. The photo next to yours is of another silly guy, so maybe it’s in the genes.
Hang on to being silly, don’t let life rob you of that. Silliness is often an expression of shear joy without reason and we need that. It’s an expression of “Life is Great” and throws your hands up in the air and I don’t care feeling. Often in life there is a veneer of seriousness, we are suppose to act in certain ways because that is what serious, capable, committed, smart people do. I call bulls**t on this thinking! Einstein and the Dalai Lama were/are certainly smart, capable and yes – silly people! That last guy on the right, well he was just silly. Anyway, You can be smart, capable, dependable, successful and silly in life! Yes, there are times when it may not be appropriate to be silly, but for the life of me I can’t think of one right now because even at my own funeral I would hope that people would be silly.
